The Play Action Network (PAN) was successfully re-launched in December 2008. PAN is a partnership of organisations / individuals that have an interest in developing children’s play in the city.

The network exists in order to:

  • Raise the profile of play in Nottingham amongst all sectors.
  • Improve the quality and diversity of play opportunities available to children and young people and access to these opportunities.
  • Provide a forum for debate where stakeholders can raise issues and concerns on matters affecting children and young people’s play.
  • Provide the opportunity to develop partnership working, disseminate information and gain knowledge at grass roots level, providing a sounding board for change and innovation.
  • Enable the sharing of ideas, information and good practice in play.
  • Advocate for the voluntary sector informing and influencing policy opinion and decision makers.

Playworks is pleased to announce the date of its next Play Action Network (PAN). The date will be the 28th September from 9.30 to 13.00 here at Playworks.  The meeting will focus on the feasibility of launching a new Voluntary Sector Play Forum.

We feel that in light of major changes to the Play sector in Nottingham, and the third sector, which supports so much of it in the city, it is important to hold an open forum meeting for voluntary groups, organisation, individuals and services.  This will give both groups and individuals an opportunity to discuss concerns, and look at new ways of joint working.  It is very important that the voluntary and community sector are active partners of the Nottingham Play Partnership, and that we inform the work that will take it forward in the future.
