there's always someting to do at playworks!

We have loads of volunteer opportunities in a variety of areas and projects here at Playworks:

Scrapstore

  • Meeting the public, dealing with enquires
  • Processing, sorting, displaying materials & assist in the shop
  • Sourcing materials & help with collection runs, loading & unloading
  • Creating examples of ways to use materials from the store

Development Work

  • Represent Playworks at meetings and conferences;
  • Engage communities across the city & support them in providing quality diverse play provision;
  • Support with planning & delivery of play within the city;
  • Support with research & production of newsletters, e-bulletins and website

Administration and clerical

  • Undertake day-to-day admin duties such as filing and photocopying;
  • IT work including word processing, database management and website maintenance;
  • Cover reception and answer phone calls / deal with face to face enquiries

Play Training

  • Assisting with the preparation, running and evaluation of play training;
  • Help to run sessions and activities;
  • Update and create ideas sheets

Trustee

  • Ensure effective and efficient running of Playworks;
  • Contribute effectively to the board of trustees role in giving firm strategic direction to the organisation;
  • Safeguarding the values and name of Playworks

Play Cafe

  • Supporting organisation of drop-in social events;
  • Research and dissemination of information on current developments in play;
  • Mapping of provision across the city of Nottingham;
  • Update publicity information and filing

Street Play

  • Play with children and young people on parks and public spaces;
  • Help develop potential play environments;
  • Support with the delivery of quality play provision;
  • Support parents involvment in childrens play
