Hi everyone!

My name is Matthew Conway, I'm volunteer Admin Assistant here at Playworks; you may have seen me on reception, and I was involved in the creation of this very web site!

On April 11th 2010 I am taking part in the annual Derbyshire Building Society 10K run, taking place in Derby city centre. I am hoping to raise money through sponsorship for...who else? Playworks! I understand we have lost quite a bit of funding this year, so any help is greatly appreciated. Your donation will provide a step towards maintaining and improving our (already) fine range of services such as street play projects, playworker training, creche and more. You can donate by signing the sponsorship form on the desk at reception at our HQ.

I had a lot of fun doing it last year; I completed it in 54 minute 45 seconds and was shocked at the fact I managed to keep running without stopping to the very end. I should be a lot more used to the distance this time around having ran in a half marathon (13.1 miles) since, but am taking nothing for granted and will have to get off my backside and do some more training now the weather has improved. If I can do it in less than 50 minutes I may have to up my personal donation, as well as buy all the playworks staff a celebratory drink or two, so I'm expecting a lot more encouragement from them up until after the event.
